As more and more states are enacting Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) that mandate the role renewable fuels will play in power generation, Norbridge has taken the lead in helping utilities and other energy industry participants in understanding the issues and implications of embracing these mandates. Our expertise in solid fuels, sourcing, bulk commodities transport and storage, and forest products and agricultural markets has formed the foundation for our biomass and renewable fuels client assistance efforts.

In early 2009 we internally funded a research effort to better understand the issues and challenges related to embracing biomass, including sourcing and transporting biomass at a scale sufficient for major utilities to be interested.
