Positions - Business Analyst
The role of the Business Analyst is to conduct research and analysis in a project-based environment. Assigned to 1-2 project teams at a time, the Business Analyst will be involved in:
  • Conducting primary and secondary research, including telephone and in-person interviews and surveys, and literature/internet searches
  • Performing various computer-based analyses to realize project goals; this will require using spreadsheets, simulation modeling software, statistical programs, process mapping tools, etc.
  • Developing analytical insights through assumption testing and sensitivity analysis
  • Summarizing findings and helping to develop recommendations
  • Drafting client presentations
Travel
Business Analysts are expected to travel to client sites as necessitated by projects. A typical new-hire Business Analyst profile might be for little or no travel during a short orientation period, and then travel 1-2 days per week on average thereafter, with sporadic 4 or 5-day travel weeks.

Compensation
We compensate Business Analysts similarly to entry-level positions at much larger consulting firms (entry-level positions at various firms have different titles). We are unusual as a company in that annual bonuses are a significant portion of compensation at all levels, including Business Analyst. We provide a full range of benefits, including health and life insurance, as well as a 401K program with annual fund matching according to company profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated superior capabilities in completing an undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, or similar. Coursework will show an interest and proficiency in analytical subjects.

Analytical/Technical Skills
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding analysis and organizational skills. Proficiency with spreadsheet and database programs as well as familiarity with statistical analysis or presentation programs (e.g., Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) is a plus.

Human Relations/Communications Skills
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, confident, creative, and comfortable in an unstructured situation. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to grasp new concepts quickly and an enthusiasm for learning.

Experience
The ideal candidate will have up to 2 years of work experience and may have the objective of proceeding to graduate studies in business or a related field.
