Jeff Drake, a Consulting Director at Norbridge Inc., supports the firm’s
business in Europe and
is based in London. He has worked in and consulted to the transportation and
logistics industries for more than 20 years. He has wide experience in acquisitions,
organisation restructuring and design, strategy development, and execution across
the transportation and logistics industries. In particular, Mr. Drake has led
and participated in transaction advisory projects for the transportation industry
(shipping, ports, logistics and inland transport) on a worldwide basis. Illustrative
projects include:
- Led numerous strategic consulting assignments in the transportation sector performing commercial, operational and financial analysis.
- Developed and implemented a logistics strategy for a global container shipping company.
- Devised and led the development of a global transportation management information system.
- Managed several strategic planning initiatives including a study for a major Mediterranean liner shipping company to identify and exploit areas of sustainable competitive advantage.
- Performed a due diligence acquisition study for a global transportation company in order to assess the economic feasibility and potential synergies of acquiring different shipping companies.
- Designed and implemented several organisation change initiatives for transportation companies in order to align their structures with changing customer requirements.
- Managed several organisation initiatives including an organisational change program for the South African Railway.
- Restructured a global port operator’s organisation.
- Led the anti-trust / regulatory review activities associated with the sale of a global container shipping company.
Prior to his work with Norbridge, Mr. Drake held executive positions within the transportation / logistics industry and in strategy consulting.
- Peters & May (Southampton, UK) – Managing Director – responsible for global operations / P&L of this privately held speciality logistics business.
- CP Ships Ltd (London, UK). Held several executive roles: Vice President
- Intermodal responsible for the company’s global in-house and third-party
rail, truck, and feeder activities; Vice President - Logistics, responsible
for developing the group’s third-party logistics business; Vice President -
Corporate Planning with responsibility for strategic planning, business development,
regulatory and acquisition activities.
- Contship Italia (Genoa, Italy) - Director - Marketing and Planning responsible
for development and marketing activities for this Italian terminal and inland
transportation company.
- Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman) (Boston) – Partner – Transportation Practice where he advised major private and public sector transportation clients in North & South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Mr. Drake has a Bachelor of Science degree (with honours) from the U.S Merchant Marine Academy in New York and a Masters of Management degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
