Mr. Bovet, a Partner at Norbridge, leads the firm's global supply chain consulting practice. Focus areas include operations strategy, network design, process efficiency, and cost reduction.

He brings 30 years of experience to clients in a range of industries, from consumer goods to high-tech manufacturing, with projects typically delivering short-term cost savings that fund medium-term business transformation.

Recent engagements include:

• Designing a new global supply network strategy for a telecoms manufacturer. Regional supply was aligned with demand and new suppliers chosen, to raise customer service while cutting inventories and operating costs.
• For a European electrical supplies manufacturer, analyzing sourcing and logistics patterns from Taiwan to identify savings and service improvements. Also led 3PL request for proposals process to select best provider.
• Recommending the location for an Asia-Pacific repair and distribution operation, for a high-tech manufacturer. Based on a detailed analysis of costs and service, this recommendation was accepted and successfully implemented.
• For a medical equipment manufacturer, developing a European repair and distribution strategy. The business case demonstrated cost savings while enabling an overnight "hot swap" capability.
• For a leading high-tech manufacturer, analyzing China to US supply chain and recommending improvements in network design, as well as advising on negotiation strategy with ocean carriers and 3PLs.
• For a storied consumer electronics supplier, redesigning the company's returns and reverse logistics processes. Yielded significant operating cost savings with lower inventories due to more efficient work flow.

Mr. Bovet is co-author of Value Nets: Breaking the Supply Chain to Unlock Hidden Profits (Wiley & Sons, 2000). David also speaks widely and writes about operations in Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal Europe, Supply Chain Management Review, and Inside Supply Management. He chaired the Global Sourcing Track at CSCMP's Annual Global Conference in Chicago in September 2009 and an M&A panel at CSCMP's 2010 conference.

Prior to joining Norbridge, Mr. Bovet was a Managing Director of Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), where he co-led the supply chain team based in Boston and in Paris. Earlier, Mr. Bovet was an economist at The World Bank, managing part of the Brazil lending program. He also served as a US Coast Guard officer.

Mr. Bovet received his MBA with highest honors, and an MA in economics, from Stanford University. He holds engineering degrees from Webb Institute (currently a Trustee) and George Washington University. David is a dual US and Swiss national, and also is fluent in French.
